ICRE proposes a new Talks, entitled Dialogues with Sophie Aguilera Lester (https://www.sophieaguilera.com/).
Sophie Aguilera tells us that as an artist and sculptor, her fortuitous encounter with ceramics brought her a whole repertoire of new aesthetic and creative possibilities. Since then, she has been fascinated by this material, with which she creates the entirety of her work and which has allowed her to create a rich language of her own that evolves as knowledge of the craft progresses.
Aguilera conceives the creative process as a journey between classical figuration and postmodernity. His most recent work focuses on the investigation and revision of still lifes and still lifes, inspired by the traditional ceramics of deception or trompe-l'œil. He enjoys working with detailed floral forms, fruits and fabrics with which he creates new contemporary settings, inspired by tradition and classical virtuosity.
The activity will take place on Tuesday, September 17, at 7:00 p.m., at the Cercle Artístic de Barcelona (Sala dels Atlants, 3rd floor), Carrer dels Arcs, 5, in Barcelona.
Drinks can be consumed during the gathering and will be purchased at the Cercle bar.
Since the capacity is limited, it is advisable to make a pre-registration before Sunday 15 September by post socis@icre.cat.
