29th ICRE Seminar: “Daniel González, the spirit of modernity”

This Wednesday 5 July at 6.30 pm another Seminar will take place at the Clarà Library in Barcelona (Doctor Carulla, 22-24).In this 29th edition of the ICRE seminars Berta Bartolomé Gonzalez will present a conference entitled Daniel González, the spirit of modernity.

We invite you to discover the work of this little-known artist, but with a sculptural work of great quality.

Daniel González Ruiz (1893-1969) began his journey at a time when Spanish sculpture was moving between tradition and avant-garde renewal, in agreement with other contemporary artists such as Julio Antonio, Victorio Mascle, Emilià Barral, Francesc Pérez Mateu García Condoy. Unfortunately, a crippling illness marred his promising career.

As always, together with the seminar, a small exhibition of 8 sculptures by some ICRE members will be inaugurated. This time they will be from: Títio Cardoso, Glòria Coronas, Paco Guarc, Michele Le Pape, Jordi Mor, Luis Squeo and Marcel Valencia.
