The City Council of La Roda (Albacete) announces the II International Sculpture Contest “Rafael Canogar” in order to help promote sculpture and thereby try to beautify squares, parks, roundabouts and gardens in the city of La Roda. At the same time, it aims to bring art closer to all Rodenses by taking it to the street. For this, the winning pieces (models) will be taken to a large format and will become part of the city’s heritage.
It will be made up of free-themed models that may be made of any type of material as long as they can be developed later on a larger scale, in any type of steel, stainless steel, enamel painted steel or corten steel, aluminum sheet or other type. sheet metal. These materials will be the definitive materials of the works once they have been enlarged.
You can participate with a maximum of two works per artist, which must be original, not have been awarded in other contests and dated in the years 2018 to 2022. The measurements of the models presented to the competition are free and can be taken to a larger scale in final material. They may incorporate in the model only some detail to be made in any other material.
The models must be sent to the House of Culture of La Roda. The models will be delivered unsigned with a motto and accompanied by a sealed envelope, on the outside of which will appear the same motto of the work and inside, it must be accompanied by an explanatory technical sheet of the model with the title, name and surnames of the artist, address, telephone, email, photocopy of identity document, passport or similar document and brief curriculum.
The deadline to present the models ends on March 31, 2022 at 2:00 p.m., being the opening hours for the reception of the works, the same as for the general public.
